We Are Proud of Our Clean Stream!

The Crimlin stream which flows past the local national School is considered a ‘Blue Dot’.

This means it is in the highest category in the monitoring of our rivers and lakes throughout the country. Simply put; the Crimlin stream is one of the ‘best of the best’ waterways in all of Ireland.

The stream is part of the Clydagh river sub-catchment, that eventually flows into the River Moy near Foxford.

In May 2023 the fifth and sixth class students of Crimlin NS carried out a kick sampling session in the stream with staff from the Local Authorities Waters Programme (Lawpro). This session with the children proved that the Crimlin stream was indeed in very good condition.
